What we are:
The Texas Defenders is a grass roots movement within the Texas Confederation of Clubs. Composed of Texas Citizen Biker manpower from M/C and COIR (Coalition of Independent Riders) representatives the Texas Defenders work in solidarity for the common good of our communities and to defend the Constitution of these Unites States of America.”
Mission:
The Texas Defenders stand ready to implement and support motorcycle rights organizations and other organization’s “Call-to-Actions” that are identified as falling within the Texas Confederation of Club’s agenda. The Texas Defenders also “Stand at the Ready” when it comes to assisting in emergency situations such as tornado of flood damage that may befall our communities.
TEXAS DEFENDERS
The Texas Defenders program was commissioned by TCOC State Chairman Bandido Gimmi Jimmy in the early fall of 07 and has taken on a force of its own. Composed of members from Texas COC and COIR representatives who are appointed by their club and by Independent Riders the Texas Defenders units will be assigned to the regional COC where they are inducted. Commissioned by the TCOC, each Texas Defender will wear a state COC sanctioned patch that cannot be sold or traded. Any changes in personnel will need to be coordinated with the unit’s commander to which they are assigned.
The Texas Defenders program is not a Motorcycle Rights Organization (MRO) such as the TMRA, TMRA II, ABATE, AIM, MRF and the AMA, but manageable units of M/C and Independent Riders manpower.
All Texas Defenders will be trained in “Call-to-Action” grass root strategies such as letter writing campaigns, emailing and phoning state and national legislators and canvassing crowds who will then take that training back to their clubs or groups to implement the action. Open training seminars in grass roots strategies like letter writing to legislators will be conducted by state and national leaders and teachers from around the country.
One of the most important tools of a Texas Defenders Unit will be the Texas Defender’s Booths that will be set up and manned at most major events and rallies across Texas including motorcycle rallies, drag races, car and truck shows, etc. The mission of the Texas Defenders Booths will include registering voters, handing out TCOC literature, signing up C.O.I.R., completing surveys and selling “I SUPPORT” gear to help fund the movement.
The TCOC Texas Defenders program promises to be the most exciting grass roots movement destined to spread across the country and it’s starting right here in Texas. Motorcycle club members, independent riders and even non-riders alike are coming together in solidarity in an effort to defend our constitutional liberties and to protect our right to pursue the biker lifestyle that we live day and night.
For any questions concerning the TCOC Texas Defenders Program or to find out how you can get involved you can contact me directly at sod@coctexas.org or attend the next regional COC meeting in your area.

RE: Senate Bill 616-HIPPA Recreational Injury Technical Correction Act
Dear Senator,
I am writing you today to request your support for Senate Bill 616.
This bill will correct possible discrimination for individuals participating in legal transportation and recreational activities like motorcycling, snowmobiling, skiing, horseback riding and other activities of this nature.
I have been riding motorcycles for over thirty years and have always operated my motorcycle in accordance with the laws of my location and in a safe manner.
I find it unreasonable and unfair to pay medical insurance premiums knowing that my medical insurance company can deny coverage to me for injuries I might incur, after the fact , for participating in lawful activities. With today’s ever increasing fuel prices, more and more middle class Americans, like myself, are using motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters for transportation as a means to control costs.
We should not be subject to medical coverage denial simply because we chose to use motorcycles for transportation.
This was not the original intent of the HIPPA law.
Senate Bill 616 is now in the US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
I urge and request that you contact the chairman of this committee, Senator Kennedy and the other committee members and request they support this bill so that it can be moved to the floor of the US Senate for a vote.
I would also urge and request that you contact Senator Susan Collins of Maine and offer your co-sponsorship of this bill as many other US Senators have done already.
This matter is very important to me
so I would like to thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.
Please Respond back with your intended position on this Bill 616.
Thank you,
(Signature in BLUE INK)

June 5 2008 Call To ACTION
This call to action will be in defense for the criticism and harassment given to Councilwoman Lourdes Galvan, District 5 in San Antonio, TX. In a recent news cast she presented a proclamation to a motorcycle club for their charity work within her community. Since this news broad cast Ms. Galvan has been slandered by many officials, let us join together to defend her and her contributions to the community. There is no reason this hard working woman should be shamed out of office. I have attached a link to the news cast for your review. There is also a link with information about Ms. Galvan.
We will be sending letters to the Mayor and Chief of Police of San Antonio. I will be sending sample letters out later this week along with mailing information. Please remember to make copy’s of the letters and turn them in to me or Companero OSO.
